Why does everyone say that laptop computers make you a hunchback? Why don’t all computers cause this?

Are there millions of hunchbacks roaming around the landscape?
Why are people trying to scare us? Is this true or a lie?

well it would be bad for your back to be leaning over all the time looking at something sitting on your lap.
but then it would be bad in any situation for you to have your be bent over like that….
its a lot easier on your body to sit up rather then to be bending your back in a not so natural way.

Actually, spending too much time at a computer of any kind is bad for your back. You should be careful to maintain an upright posture, because the natural tendency is to hunch forward, and you should take frequent breaks to stretch and/or get up and walk around. Your back will thank you for it.

One tends to hunch over a laptop more than a pc. because of the position of the monitor

in most cases desktop monitors are set up higher so you look straight at them. With a laptop you have no chose but to look down at the screen. It’s not as bad on a desk, but look at the people who use laptops on airplanes they are always hunched over. It’s really a myth, like watching TV in the dark is bad for your eyes.

It’s usually because people aren’t sitting at chairs while working on a laptop. That leads to bad posture.
