I need a new notebook mainly for work (office documents, email, web-authoring and photo editing). Because I travel I want it to have some entertainment capability (light gaming, and watching Hi Def content) but still be relatively portable (under 8 pounds). Does anyone know of a PC notebook manufacturer that offers a back lit keyboard, Blue Ray drive, TV tuner, and hdmi output in a 15.4 to 17 inch platform?

I want to transfer my data from a notebook to a notebook. can you tell me the fastest and easiliest way to connect two computers together?

Here’s how to share folders, http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/getstarted/shareresources.mspx, connect the two computers together using a LAN cable and file sharing/folder sharing SHOULD work. What you want to do and what Windows wants to do may be two different things, I’ve successfully done this one many computers and some simply refused to acknowledge the connection.

I just want to know if they have a reliable optical drive.

Not sure about those specific problems, but everyone I know who has had or currently has a Dell laptop has MAJOR problems in general with it. They just don’t seem as up to par as other notebooks these days. (unless they drastically changed within the past year!)

Macs are great. I had one problem with mine and Apple fixed it right away (overnight shipping). They have great customer service and it’s been fine since.
