Reccomendations of inexpensive used laptop with quiet keys for note taking and screen at least 15"?

I last owned a Dell Precision M60 that I bought used off of ebay for about $145. I would like to find another laptop like that, but with a quieter keyboard. Thank you!

WWF: Change the way you think about your laptop

Do you know what goes into making your laptop? Raw materials for electronic goods are mined from tropical rainforests, but as resources dry up, recycling aluminum is key. If a laptop manufacturer only used recycled aluminum, it would take 90% less energy to make the same machine. Imagine what our world would like if more products recycled or reused existing materials.

Akai LPD8 Laptop Pad Controller Video – HipHopTools.com

http://www.hiphoptools.com

The LPD8 laptop pad controller is a USB-MIDI controller for musicians, producers, DJs and other music creators. It measures less than 13 inches across and weighs less than a pound to easily fit into a laptop case, backpack or messenger bag for extreme portability.

The LPD8 is based on Akai Professionals MPC line of iconic music production stations. Producers who love the feel of the MPC and want to work with software on their computer will find that the LPD8 gives their laptop the controls they prefer over a mouse and keyboard.

The LPD8 has eight orange light-up pads that are velocity sensitive for programming rhythmic or melodic parts. The pads can also send program-change information to software. Additionally, the LPD8 has eight assignable Q-Link knobs you can assign to virtually any parameters in their software for hands-on control.

The LPD8 works plug and play with Mac and PC and requires no software driver installation or wall power for operation. It has four memory banks for programming and recalling settings appropriate to different software programs you use.

Make music in any setting with the LPD8.

Key Features

How to install a backlit keyboard on Dell XPS 17 L702X laptop

If you were like me and thought that all XPS 17 L702X models just magically came with a “backlit” keyboards after customizing your laptop your own way, via that overlay simplistic “customization wizard” on Dell’s website (I should of used the List View to configure it!), and realized that when your received the laptop, the keyboard didn’t light up on boot. Don’t fear. You can still get the backlit keyboard and install it yourself.

It’ll just cost you about $17 more for neglecting this selection during configuration process (option was $40 when you ordered, but $57 after the mistake) But installing this keyboard after the fact is not as hard as it seemed. Watch the video to see how, or google “L702x service manual” to read up how it is done…..OR you can take it to your nearest Dell service center to have them do it if you don’t trust yourself with a screwdriver and computers.

Sorry for the shoddy camera work in this video. Probably should have used a tripod for most of the hand-held shots, and should have used my laptop to make sure the shots of me were all set up appropriately. I was in a hurry to build it so I could get back online. :)

As always, I’m still planning to get back into making regular videos, I’ve just had too much on my plate for too long… My apologies, as usual.
