MacBook Solar Powered Laptop System

100% eco-friendly, zero-emissions computing! This is a tour of the solar power system I engineered for charging and powering my Apple MacBook laptop as well as other devices. (Nokia N800 internet tablet, cell phones, lights, etc)

I have employed 12 solar panels wired in parallel developing around 39 watts in the sunshine. The panels are managed by a solar charge controller wired to a 655CCA 12V car battery.

The battery charges all day, then is brought in at night to power & charge my devices. It is capable of charging a completely dead MacBook battery as well as operating the machine under heavy load. A 400 watt DC-AC inverter is used to provide 120VAC. (household current) The inverter is capable of delivering 800 watts for short periods.

Laptop Batteries | Laptop Battery Power

http://betterguideforyou.com/laptop-batteries — Place To Choosing Best Laptop Batteries

Good Product

I received the exact item described. The battery works perfectly on the Toshiba A135-S2246 and lasts about 2.5 to 3 hours on power saver mode (with the screen fully dimmed and CPU working slower). It came in an anti-static bag which is nice to avoid damage during shipment.

One thing to note is that the battery may not be a perfect fit, but it’s compatible. For me to lock it in in place twice (with the two locks) I had to lock it while the battery was partially inserted and then push it in all the way. Once the battery is inserted you can’t see or feel a difference from the original.

Works with my Toshiba

I have had this battery for over one week and it works well with my Toshiba laptop A135-S7403. I initially thought I was buying the PA3457U battery which has a higher capacity but this is the regular capacity battery. For the price though, I am satisfied with the product. Cannot attest to durability hence the 4 stars. The product shipped promptly and arrived in about 3 days. I would buy again from this vendor – SIB.

1980s Zenith Supersport laptop computer

This old laptop works like brand new. The battery even held a good charge the last time I used it a few years ago. It’s an 80C88 running at 7.16 MHz (50% faster than the original IBM PC), with 640K RAM, an electroluminescent backlit monochrome 10.5″ LCD with 640×200 CGA resolution, two 3.5″ 720K floppy drives, and a very nice desktop-quality keyboard. A 20 MB hard drive and built-in modem were optional; mine has neither. I also demonstrate it using my Tandy CM-11 as an external color monitor.

Here is a very good web site with lots of photos and information on this laptop:

HP ’s Worst Laptop Ever – Pavilion ZD8000 -

This is the infamous Hewlett Packard Pavilion ZD 8000 Laptop.

This HP Entertainment Notebook PC is the Worst laptop I have ever owned since 1998.

In late 2005 it cost me $ 1560. ( I remember I did a serious laptop selecting search) but unfortunately I decided to safe $200 , gave HP a vote of trust and buy this laptop instead other brands I have owned before. It was a terrible mistake.

Many users worldwide have experienced Lot of problems with this HP Laptop, and hundred of claims have been sent to HP.

HP does not want to recognize the responsibility in the poor design of this HP equipment that was top of the line only 3 years ago.

Overheating due inadequate and poor desing laptop ventilation or cooling system.
Battery Pack overheating problems forced in HP to recall bateries in 2008.
Display problems showing vertical lines on Screen

If you Google: ” HP ZD8000 vertical lines ” you will get a huge amount of desperate users trying to solve the situation.

The purpose of this video is to ask ZD8000 owners around the world to join internet protests and claims that have been experienced with this laptop:Uploading videos in Youtube, sending emails to HP, forcing HP to recall defective computers.

If you are thinking of buying a laptop, please do not waste your money in Brands that are not responsible of their mistakes.

A little History:
Just one month after warranty expirexd: my Dimm Memory Card need to be replaced: It Cost me around $150.(Technicians told me that the cause was the heat inside the computer due inadequate ventilation system of the laptop)

After that, the battery pack was heating up the system so high that was unconfortable to touch the keyboard. Searching on the Internet I discovered that keyboard failure was caused by u a defective battery pack, so they recommend users to pull out the battery pack and work with out it. Four months later, and searching on the Internet (Late 2008), I found that my battery pack has been recalled urgently http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml06/06007.html

4 Moths before that, screen was failing very bad with vertical lines on screen increasing daily

6 Months ago the screen began showing nasty vertical lines, getting up to 15 and increasing. Today the laptop wont start up remaining in black. The laptop only responds in VGA mode. I reinstalled the operating system two times, but when you install HP CD drivers Laptop collapses, and its impossible to start up.

Since year 1999 I have owned 2 other laptops( Not HP) before this Pavilion, and both are running well and never presented any problem at all. Always my purchase decision was pointed to get the top of the line laptop of any brand, and that was the case with my defective Pavilion ZD 8000 (8215US).To buy this laptop I spent in late 2005 almost $1500 and it was a considerable amount of money, compared with other alternatives in the same category of home media laptops.

This Pavilion ZD 8000 represents my worst experience ever in technology, and I consider that HP did many mistakes, in the process of manufacture that should consider recall them in order to fix the high amount of complains that exists all over the world with this laptop.

What positive technical knowledge could anybody ask or share with that amount massive of failures with this Pavilion ZD8215US ???

HP should check all complains that exist in the web about this laptop

HP does not want to be responsible for bad design and manufacture of the evident failure in the manufacture of this computer.
