Connect: A Look At Bulletin Board Systems
This is an old documentary about Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) that was produced back in 1992. I don’t remember where I came across this video originally, it’s been many years now, but it’s a truly fascinating look back at where Computers came from, and the early days before the “Internet Age” really took hold. I used to connect to several BBS systems back in the day, so this is what I call nostalgic by far. Very dated, REALLY geeky, if it’s not informative, it should at least be humorous. Enjoy.

1980s Zenith Supersport laptop computer
This old laptop works like brand new. The battery even held a good charge the last time I used it a few years ago. It’s an 80C88 running at 7.16 MHz (50% faster than the original IBM PC), with 640K RAM, an electroluminescent backlit monochrome 10.5″ LCD with 640×200 CGA resolution, two 3.5″ 720K floppy drives, and a very nice desktop-quality keyboard. A 20 MB hard drive and built-in modem were optional; mine has neither. I also demonstrate it using my Tandy CM-11 as an external color monitor.
