The product key is a 25-character code that is located on the Certificate of Authenticity label or on the proof of license label. These labels are included with each genuine copy of Windows. A genuine product key can only be used on the number of computers that are specified in a software license.

- Validation is an online process that enables you to verify that the copy of Windows 7 that is running on your computer is activated correctly and is genuine.

What do you need?

1) A Jailbroken iPod Touch (1st,2nd,or 3rd Gen) or and iPhone (3G, 3GS)
2) Either an iPod USB Cable or a WiFi Connection
3) Winrar:

Steps:

*USB: (Preferred SSHing Method!)
1) Plug in iPod Touch/iPhone
2) Go to Cydia
3) Search “afc2add”, Install/confirm (it will reboot device)
4) Go to http://i-funbox.com/
5) Scroll to the bottom and download i-funbox
(it is a .zip file, you need WinRar installed (link above)
6) Open it and run it (either drag and drop it anywhere or run it from there)
7) i-funbox should automatically detect your device
Click on your device’s icon and choose what you would like to do.

WiFi:
1)Go to Cydia
2) Search “ssh”, select “Automatic SSH”, install/confirm
3)”Return to Cydia”
4) Respring
5) Hit the Home Button
6) Download the latest version of WinSCP (winscp*version*setup.exe):

7) Run the setup and install WinSCP
Open up WinSCP
Setting Up WinSCP Connection:
9) Host name is your IP Address (Settings-WiFi-click the blue arrow of your internet connection)
10) Username: root
11) Password: alpine
12) Save the connection, you can rename it to anything, then click ok
13) Make sure your WiFi is on
14) Double Click on Your Connection (WinSCP)
15) (If any message comes up click “yes”) then Confirm Password
16) You’re in!

Kinect is the future of motion control for computers–though that’s not what Microsoft had in mind when they released it. Adafruit Industries promised to give away $3000 to the first person who could hack into Kinect, Microsoft’s latest motion controller for the Xbox, and use it to create an open-source driver. A man named Hector Martin won that challenge, using Kinect to enable depth and RGB manipulation on his computer. The kicker: he doesn’t even own an Xbox. (Video Source: Youtube)

We’re looking at viewpoints from CNET, ZDNet, and CNN.

Microsoft was not pleased to hear of the contest, and a spokesman told CNET there would be implications for messing with Kinect.

“With Kinect, Microsoft built in numerous hardware and software safeguards designed to reduce the chances of product tampering. Microsoft will continue to make advances in these types of safeguards and work closely with law enforcement and product safety groups to keep Kinect tamper-resistant.”

But ZDNet reports Microsoft later changed its story, saying it was not a hack.

“There are two reasons for the possible back-down:
1. Microsoft lawyers recognized it has no legal case against Martin, who made no changes to the hardware.
2. Microsoft marketers realized that the drivers might, in the end, be a gold mine for Microsoft.”

Despite the argument about whether on not this constituted a hack, a reporter for CNN sees enormous potential in Microsoft Kinect.

“The hack leaves open the possibility that Microsoft’s motion-sensing technology could be used to control computer interfaces, not just games. The technology could have applications for the classroom, in art or in any field where motion-controlled computing would be compelling.”

So, did the hack uncover a gold mine for Microsoft?
